Due to the impending landfall of hurricane Irma, all classes have been canceled starting Thursday, September 7th – Monday, September 11th Tuesday, September 12th Wednesday, September 13th Monday, September 18th (updated 9/12/17). All UCF facilities will be closed Friday, September 8th and will not reopen for business until 6am Tuesday, September 12th Wednesday, September 13th Thursday, September 14th Friday, September 15th.

All Film Program related events during campus closure have been canceled. All equipment check-outs scheduled during this time will be postponed. All facility reservations are canceled. Please contact the Film Operations Desk to reschedule.

The Film Equipment Room will be closing early on Thursday, August 31st at 1pm due to the UCF vs FIU home game on the main campus. Students should be advised that the UCF Police Department will begin clearing and locking buildings and UCF Parking and Transportation Services will begin towing vehicles after 1pm in preparation of pregame activities. The Film Operations Desk will not be accepting requests to reserve Film Program facilities for after 1pm on game day. The UCF main campus will reopen for normal operations at 6:00AM Friday, September 1st.

The UCF/SVAD Film Program Undergraduate Orientation is being held on Friday, September 1st at 3pm in VAB 132*. All current and incoming students should make every effort to attend to get updates on program related activities.

Students enrolled in supported production courses should stop by the Film Equipment Room, NSC 157, to have their UCF ID cards scanned for access to Film Program production facilities. Supported production courses for the Fall 2017 semester are as follows:

  • FIL 2461 Cinematography I
  • FIL 3534 Sound Design for Film I
  • FIL 3876C Experimental Cinema I
  • FIL 4162C Feature/TV Writing I
  • FIL 4301C Documentary Workshop I
  • FIL 4486C Directing for Film II
  • FIL 4434C Capstone I
  • FIL 4566C Editing II
  • Students enrolled in an approved Independent Study
  • Film, MFA graduate students
