Screener Delivery Updates

Film Operations has updated the Screener Delivery Instructional Outlines & Videos for Adobe CS6 & Apple FCS 3:

Please use these new Screener Delivery instructional materials to help guide you with properly delivering a Digital Master File for playback during an official student film exhibition event (such as the Directing II Screener or the Year-End Screeners). Please familiarize yourself with our delivery standards by downloading the latest version of these outlines from our Instructional Outlines page. Companion Instructional Videos for both Adobe CS6 and Apple FCS 3 have also been produced to guide you through the process.

Some key changes this year are to the specs of the Digital Master File- We have narrowed the frame sizes that we are now accept to just 1920 x 1080 (16:9) and have also limited frame rates to just 23.976 (24p – Cinema Standard) or 29.97 (30p or 60i – HDTV Broadcast Standard). We are still only accepting Apple ProRess 422 (.mov) files. Windows OS users will need to follow special directions on the final page of the Adobe CS6 outline to successfully generate a deliverable Digital Master File that can be successfully played back on our streaming hardware.

If you are running into issues during your export, please stop by the Film Equipment Room | NSC-157 and ask for assistance with exporting your media.
