Sound Stage Workshop | Fall 2014

Sound Stage

Students wishing to have their production on either the main campus Sound Stage | NSC-157 or the Studio 500 downtown at the Center for Emerging Media are required to attend a series of mandatory Instructional Workshops in order to gain access. Once a student has attend this series of workshops, the training qualifies you to use the sound stages for the rest of your time here at UCF.

This semesters Sound Stage workshops will be taking place on Friday, September 26th, downtown at the UCF Center for Emerging Media. The agenda is as follows:

  • 10:00am – 11:30am – Sound Stage: Rigging, Safety & Procedures;
  • 11:30am – 1:00pm – Sound Stage: Electrical Distribution;
  • 1:00pm – 2:00pm – Lunch Break
  • 2:00pm – 4:00pm – Sound Stage: Flats, Construction & Painting.

Students and their key crew members (i.e. DP, Gaffer, Key Grip) must be present for the Rigging, Safety & Procedures and the Electrical Distribution workshops to get final approval when submitting either a Sound Stage | NSC-181A or Studio 500 application. Students are not required to attend the Flats, Construction & Painting workshop if they do not plan on building any sets or use power tools while using the stage. Any student wishing to learn more about working on a sound stage is welcomed to attend and participate.
